Enid Constantia Fisher (nee Oliphant) (90) of Bloomfield, CT, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of May 1, 2018 at her residence in Bloomfield. She was born on June 6, 1927 in Oriente, Cuba to Malcom and Rupertia Oliphant of Jamaica. She received her education at the Woodford Primary and Secondary school in Jamaica. In August 1955, she married the love of her life, Nigel Alexander Fisher and they were blessed with seven children; Earling Rowe of Lithonia, GA, Beverley Lopez of Ellenwood, GA, Camille Fisher Williams (deceased), Claudette Fisher Holmes of Bloomfield, CT, Winston Fisher of Bloomfield, CT, Melody Fisher McGregor (spouse) Kenneth McGregor of Windsor, CT, and Richard Fisher (spouse) Yvette Fisher of West Hartford, CT. In the late sixties, she migrated to the United States where she was employed in Hartford, CT at the Oak Hill School for the Blind for over 40 years. During her tenure, she served as a House Mother, an Assistant Teacher and a Residential Program worker. Enid was an avid gardener, a political junkie and an elegant fashionista who loved to shop, travel, cook and entertain. She was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church in Hartford for 50 years where she served as an acolyte, a member of the Altar Guild, the Episcopal Church Women, the choir and the Harvest Committee. Left to mourn are her husband Nigel, her children, grandchildren, especially Nadia and Kraig Holmes, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Malcolm and Rupertia Oliphant, her siblings, Lena Oliphant, Mae Harley, Joyce Raphael, Juett Oliphant, Linda Knight and her daughter, Camille. Calling hours are on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Lodge, 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor, CT. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 9:00 am at Grace Episcopal Church, 55 New Park Avenue, Hartford, CT. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT.
