Elliott M. Brown, Jr., 80, of Vernon, beloved husband of over 59 years to Lenora (Board) Brown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Hartford, the son of the late Elliott and Margaret (Laing) Brown, he grew up and lived in Vernon for most of his life. Elliott proudly served his country for 22 years in the armed forces. He retired in 1974 from the U. S. Air Force, and he also served in the U. S. Army and the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition of his wife, he is survived by his children, Denice Brown of East Hartford, Robert Brown and his wife Maureen of Manchester, Christopher Brown and his wife Jennifer of Crestview, FL, and Emma Rezza and her husband John of Thompson Ridge, NY; eight grandchildren, Matthew Favero, Heather, Justin, Jesse, Colin and Jacob Brown and Samantha and Ashley Rezza, and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas Brown. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home in Vernon is caring for the arrangements.
