Elaine Ann (LaBrecque) Blair, 80, of Suffield, beloved wife of Robert W. Blair, passed away on January 16th surrounded by her family, friends and caring staff of Parkway Pavilion Healthcare Center. Elaine was born on January 15th, 1937 in Manchester, NH to Joseph and Evelyn (Martens) LaBrecque. She attended schools in Manchester, NH and East Hartford, CT graduating from East Hartford High School in 1955 where she was part of the Glee Club, Ski Club and All-State Chorus. Upon graduation, Elaine started her career as an Executive Secretary working for local businesses including Pratt & Whitney, Union Carbide, Royal Business Machines and the Air National Guard. A longtime resident of Suffield, Elaine was part of the Suffield Women's Club, Mountain Laurel RV Club and the Red Hat Society. She loved to sing, entertain friends and decorate (especially at Christmas), attend UConn Women's basketball games and watch her granddaughters dance. Her family was her world and her face would light up when she talked about them; always so proud of their accomplishments and never wanting to miss seeing them grow and learn. She was a kind and giving woman exuding a light which touched everyone she met. Forever and always you will live in our hearts. Elaine is survived by her husband Robert Blair of Suffield, sons Scott Noble of Enfield and Glenn Sherman and his wife Kim of Portland. Daughters Laura (Noble) Reed and her husband Alan of Windsor and Jennifer (Sherman) Piotte and her husband Andre of Enfield, granddaughters Kaylee and Morgan Piotte. Elaine is also survived by Robert Blair's sons Bruce Blair and his wife Listina of East Granby, Jason Blair of Florida, and grandsons Kevin and Daniel Blair along with extended family. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday February 18th, 2017 at 2:00PM at Ellington Congregational Church, 72 Main Street, Elllington, CT. Calling hours will be on Friday February 17th from 4PM to 7pm at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St N, Suffield, CT. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Elaine Blair Memorial Fund at Ellington Congregational Church.
