Dorothy (Cook) Luginbuhl, 94, of Glastonbury, CT, formerly of Ellington, passed away at home, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Dorothy was born in Clarks Hill, Indiana on April 22, 1922 to the late Loyd and Louise (Bryant) Cook. She grew up in Indiana and after graduating High School met Martin Luginbuhl, they married in 1943. Dorothy came to Ellington in 1945 where they raised their family. She was a devoted mother and homemaker to her 6 children. She spent her days gardening, canning, sewing all in efforts to tend to her family. Dorothy moved to Glastonbury in 1973 and was employed by the former G. Fox & Company for many years as an executive secretary. After retirement she enjoyed long drives; from sightseeing to road trips to Indiana where she would visit extended family members. Dorothy is survived by her beloved children, Ronald Luginbuhl (Kay) of Ellington, James Luginbuhl (Jane) of Aspen, CO, Paul Luginbuhl (Mary) of Carbondale, CO, Charlene Abrahamson of Vernon, Lloyd Luginbuhl of Tolland; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by both of her parents, her husband Martin who passed away in 2001, her son Alan, as well as her brother James Cook. Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, (Route 83) Vernon, CT from 10 – 11 AM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 AM.
