Dino John Fiori, 96, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Marilyn (Johnson) Fiori, died peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on April 30, 1921 in South Windsor, son of the late Giovanni and Teresa (Fiori) Fiori. Dino was a graduate of Ellsworth Memorial High School and went on to serve our country with the U.S. Army during WWII in five European Campaigns. Upon returning from the service he married his beloved wife Marilyn Fiori and together they settled in E. Hartford, where they raised a family for over 45 years, before moving to South Windsor 20 years ago. Dino worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in E. Hartford and retired as a Senior Facility Engineer in 1980 after 41 years of service. He enjoyed fly fishing, along with hunting and golfing in his younger years. He was a Boston Red Sox fan. Along with his wife Marilyn of over 66 years, he leaves his children, Stephen Fiori and his wife Marlyn of Hebron, Janice Ames and her husband Gregory of South Kingstown, RI, Thomas Fiori and his wife Margaret of Manchester, Lisa Fiori and her husband Jan Mortensen of Denmark, and David Fiori of Mansfield; his brother, Leo Fiori of Cohasset, MA; his sister, Anna Fiori of South Windsor; and his two grandchildren, Daniel Fiori of Manchester, and Kresten Fiori Bindesboll of Denmark. He was predeceased by his brother, Bruno Fiori. Dino's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Francis Hospital and Masonicare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, 10 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd., South Windsor. Burial will be private with Military Honors at Center Cemetery in South Windsor. There are no calling hours. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home in South Windsor has care of the arrangements.
