Diane E. Haley, 71, of South Windsor, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2016 in Windsor. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on April 8, 1945, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry R. and Mary T. (Wall) Haley. Following her graduation from South Windsor High School in 1963, Diane earned her Bachelor's degree after attending the University of Bridgeport and Teikyo Post University. She became a Registered Nurse and faithfully served St. Francis Hospital in Hartford for 27 years. She was also employed by Travelers Insurance Company for 10 years working as a Patient Care Advocate. A woman of great faith, Diane devoted much of her time to her Catholic conviction as a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor. She served the church as a parish nurse, was a lector during Masses, and honored the sacraments through her assistance as a Eucharistic minister. Diane was a lovely woman with a generous heart who loved to travel, especially through the most captivating areas of Europe. As a proud resident of South Windsor for over 57 years, she will forever be remembered and missed dearly by her friends, family and community. Diane is survived by her loving brother Robert Haley and wife Joyce of Manchester; two aunts; four nephews; two nieces; and two grand-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Michael Haley of Southington. Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, August 17 at 9 AM at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in South Windsor. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Diane's honor may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road, South Windsor, CT.
