Daniel R. Doughney, 70, of East Windsor, beloved husband of the late Jeanette L. (Sebas) Doughney passed away Saturday, (June 9, 2012). Born May 17, 1942 in Hartford, son of the late Philip and Barbara (Brooks) Doughney, he grew up in Windsor before moving to East Windsor 36 years ago. Daniel was a parishioner of St. Catherine Church, Broad Brook. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 45, East Windsor, where he served as past Grand Knight and past State District Warden; he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3901 in East Hartford, the German Club and St. Casmir's Lithuanian Society. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and building homes. He is survived by three step daughters, Janice Michaud of Cromwell, Gerrie Catolane of East Windsor, Lorrie Cowles of FL; two brothers, Richard Doughney and his wife, Debbie of Windsor, Philip Doughney and his wife, Carol of FL, a sister, Linda Shanahan of Windsor; his grandson who he lived with and adored, Kyle Bass of East Windsor; six more grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his close friend and companion, Mary Belval. He was predeceased by a daughter, Terry Doughney; a brother Earl Doughney; a sister, Evelyn Gahan. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 15, 2012, 10 a.m. at St. Catherine Church, 4 Windsorville Rd., Broad Brook. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock. His family will receive friends Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave. (Rt. 75), Poquonock section of Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Catherine Church Stained Glass Window Campaign, 4 Windsorville Rd., Broad Brook, CT 06016.
