WOODS. Daniel E. Woods passed away April 1, 2012. Born August 7, 1945 to Charles E. And Matilda (Mueller) Woods. He leaves behind his wife, Ellen (Macola) Woods, a daughter, Dr. Katharine Woods, a sister, Barbara Belanger and her sons, a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joyce Woods and their family, a niece Carolyn Macola, and a number of friends whom he valued as closely as family. Mr. Woods recently retired from Dominion Resources having worked as a senior systems engineer/network specialist at Millstone Nuclear Power Plant for almost 20 years. Prior to that, he worked at Scan-Optics for over 20 years, and early in his career he worked at Hamilton Standard where he helped develop the guidance system for the Delta rocket. His family will receive friends TODAY, Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 5-8 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Rt. 159), Suffield. In lieu of flowers, the family will be establishing a scholarship fund in Mr. Woods' name at Southington High School. Visit Carmon Funeral Home website for more information.
