Clara A. (Boy) Guastamachio (Chloe), 95, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Guastamachio, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was born on July 15, 1921 in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Rudolph and Emma Boy. Chloe was married to her husband Joseph in 1948 and together they lived in East Hartford and South Windsor. She leaves her children, Gary Guastamachio and his wife Linda of Tolland, Ann Keller and her husband Tony of Westerly, RI and Rheina Aregood and her husband Greg of South Windsor; her sister, Marion Walton of East Hampton, her brother Robert Boy and his wife Pat of Southington; four grandchildren, Jesika Shekleton and her husband Mark of Vernon, Matteo Guastamacchio of Nashville, TN, Tonya Bright and her husband Jon of Coventry and Peter Glyman and his wife Christine of Tolland; four great grandchildren , Aria, Delaney, Emma and Hannah, who all knew her as Mommy Ma, a brother-in-law, Edward Havens and a sister-in-law, Antoinette Colasanto both of South Windsor and many nieces and nephews who considered her their favorite Aunt. She also leaves her beloved "grand dog" Sashie. She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Through all her life, she was a lady of grace, compassion, strength, understanding and unconditional love for her family. There was something truly special about her; if you knew her you would understand why she was an angelic soul. She always brought peace whatever the circumstance. Born 7th of 14 children and growing up during the Depression, she worked hard to keep her siblings together. With her strength and determination, she opened her own business at the age of 23, the "Claire Frances Beauty Shoppe" on Capitol Ave. in Hartford. She will be greatly missed. Her family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 10:00 a. m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Boys Town, PO Box 8000 Boys Town, NE 68010 and/ or Our Companions Animal Rescue P. O. Box 956, Manchester, CT. 06040.
