It is with profound sorrow to announce the passing of Charles "Chic" J. McQueeney, Jr., of Avon. Chic entered into eternal life on November 19, 2016 after his dearly loved wife Elisabeth "Betsy" kissed him good-bye. Chic grew up in New Haven, before joining the United States Air Force and travelling the world for the next 13 years. He was an Air Traffic Controller before becoming employed by the United States Treasury Department where he held several Managerial positions. Chic was always on the cutting edge of technology and embraced change and innovation. Chic was known for his quick and piercing wit. He believed in positivity and would light up a room with his twinkling, beautiful blue eyes. He made people laugh and feel good about themselves. He was a hobbyist and an avid collector. He owned and operated several baseball card emporiums and collected thousands of post marks. Chic was always very proud of the accomplishments and successes of his family. Besides his wife Betsy, Chic leaves behind his son Billy with whom he shared a special bond, sons Robert and wife Shelly, Kevin and wife Paulene, daughters Karen and husband Robert and Maria and husband James. Chic leaves behind grandchildren Christopher, Chase, Lauren, Riley, Mason, Laura and Claire, nephews John Paul, Quinn, Dennis, Tyler, Peter, Paulie, and Zachary and nieces Michelle, Jenna, Leah, Kelly, Payton and Patty. He leaves behind his brother in law Jon and favorite sister in law Jeannette and brother in law Paul and sister in law Pam, brother Robert and sister in law Dorothy and good friend Tod, a fellow collector. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Artist Rick. Betsy would like to thank the staff at Amberwoods of Farmington for providing Chic with exceptional care, love and compassion as well as comfort to her. Chic's family will receive friends, on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 12-1 pm followed by a Memorial Service in Celebration of Chic's Life at 1 pm at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon.
