Catherine K. O’Sullivan, 92, of Windsor, beloved wife for 71 years of Daniel J. O’Sullivan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Cork, Ireland on August 18th, 1924, to the late Con and Ann Twomey, where she lived until moving to Chelmsford, Essex, England in 1946, and then immigrating to America in 1972, she lived with her family in Windsor for the past 44 years. Kathy will be remembered as a selfless and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put the needs of others before her own. Her main focus was caring for her family and friends, and she was known to offer and not let you leave her home without a “nice cuppa tea” and a meal. Kathy especially enjoyed spending time with her youngest grandchildren Avery, Alexa, Teagan and Taryn who kept her going and “feeling young” well into her eighties until slowly declining from dementia. She also cherished the weekly phone calls from her grandson Gary in California, who never missed a Friday to call and check on his girl. She will be dearly missed. I measc na naomh go raibh sí. (With the Saints may she be.) Besides her husband Danny of Windsor, she is survived by her daughters Linda O’Sullivan of Windsor, Lisa Overstreet and her husband Javon of Windsor, son Desmond O’Sullivan and his wife Glyn of Chino Hills, CA, daughter Mary and husband Arthur of Myrtle Beach, SC, eleven grandchildren and eleven great -grandchildren, along with extended family in England and Ireland. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter June McCorrison and eleven siblings. Kathy’s family sincerely thanks her caregiver and companion Jackie for providing Kathy with excellent daily care, as well as the wonderfully compassionate Palliative Care staff at Hartford Hospital. Services will be private and at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
