Carol B. Wheeler, 71, of Bloomfield, beloved wife of the late Carl W. Wheeler, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017, in Granby. Born in Scranton, PA on August 3, 1946, daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie (Grabowski) Jaworski, she was raised in Hartford and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School. Carol later lived in Ellington and East Hartford before moving to Bloomfield where she had resided for the last 39 years. Carol worked at the Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford before taking a position with the American Red Cross where she helped to coordinate blood drives throughout Connecticut. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the beach, camping, and working in her yard. Most of all, Carol will be remembered as a simple woman who loved to be with her family. They will fondly remember the wonderful times that they shared together and her warm greeting every time they spoke, “Hey Babe, How you doing?” She leaves a daughter, Susan Schwegman and her husband Thomas of Granby; three grandchildren, Jennifer Drew and her husband Thomas of North Attleboro, MA, David Schwegman of Syracuse, NY, and Morgan Schwegman of Granby; three sisters, Theresa Conti of Northport, FL, Arlene Griffin and her husband James of Frostproof, FL, and Joan Curylo of Southington; a brother, Bernard Jaworski of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony Edward Jaworski and Leonard Jaworski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, September 21, 10 a.m., at St. Gertrude Church, 550 Matianuck Ave., Windsor. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prosser Public Library, c/o P. Faith McMahon Wintonbury Library, 1 Tunxis Ave., Bloomfield, CT 06002.
