Carol Ann Yount, beloved wife of 46 years to Bob Yount of Vernon, passed away on February 24, 2017 while vacationing with her husband in Florida. Carol was born on July 3, 1948 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Robert W. Jellison and Elizabeth (Tomilson) Jellison, and has resided in Vernon for the past 20 years. Carol enjoyed the outdoors and treasured the time spent with her Arabian horses and canine companions. The wife of a Naval Chief Petty Officer, Carol lived in various locations across the country before settling in Vernon. She was a skilled cook and was happiest spending time with her family whether at home or traveling to new places. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother who will be forever cherished in the hearts of her family. In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughters Heather Stimson and Heidi Greene and her husband Jeffrey, all of Windsor Locks; five grandchildren, Brianna Stimson, Brodie Stimson, Patrick Greene, Ashley Greene, and Emily Greene; a brother, David R. Jellison and his wife Yvonne of Black Diamond, WA; a sister, Janet E. Spiller and her husband Jeffrey of Arundel, ME; an aunt, Patricia Crawford of Houlton, ME; a great-aunt, Ann Bair of San Diego, CA; a niece, Sarah and four nephews, Shawn, Seth, David, and Michael as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, James Jellison. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 4-5 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at 5 p.m. in the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., in the Poquonock Section of Windsor.
