Carmel Breton Bolles, 83 of Ellington, beloved wife of Edward J. Bolles, Jr. passed away Thursday June 15, 2017. She was born February 13, 1934 in Hartford, the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Louise (LaPeirre) Breton. As a young woman Carmel worked at G. Fox and Co. in Hartford. She later worked in the Payroll Departments at Pratt and Whitney and Finest when living in South Windsor. She and her husband Ed followed their dream to live and raise their family in the country. Fifty four years ago they bought a farm house in Ellington and turned it into a beautiful busy full life with an assortment of farm animals. Carmel decided to build a Boarding Kennel for dogs so she could be ever present for her children while contributing to the family financially. At that time she was a 4-H leader for the Tolland County Obedience Club. She also was a huge supporter and volunteer of the TAC 4-H Fair for many years. Ellington Kennels kept her very busy plus she drove a school bus. She and her husband Ed opened up a small farm repair service in their backyard. Carmel did the bookkeeping for the business. As time went on they became the owners of Ellington Mobil, Bolles Motors of Ellington, Bolles Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Stafford and Kar Kare, Carstar of Ellington.Carmel enjoyed thirty years of wintering in Stuart and Palm city Florida. Carmel loved her summer place in Weekapaug, RI. The Dunes Family Park was her beach family. She leaves many beautiful friends and 40 years of joy at the beach. She always looked forward to having her "BEACH BUMS" at her place in RI. They consisted of her sister Helen and great friends. They truly had a wonderful bond. Carmel belonged to the Ellington Women's Club, Westerly Yacht Club, she was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR. She was a communicant of Saint Luke's Church in Ellington for 54 years. All who where blessed to know Carmel remember her as selfless, caring and kind. Her greatest accomplishment in life was caring for her family. She always believed in family first. Her love for her family was calm, unwavering, and loyal. There was always enough food and love to go around and she welcomed everyone in her home and heart. Besides her husband she is survived by her children who adored her. She has two sons and two daughters and their spouses. Brian and Joann Bolles of Tolland, Doreen and Ron Midford of Tolland, Thomas Bolles and Sandra Hollis of Ellington, Darlene Russell and her fiancé Paul Davis of Ellington, and a deceased infant child Edward J. Bolles, III. Carmels loving Grandchildren Daniel Bolles of Tolland, Sara Wolferseder of Austin Texas, Ron Midford Jr. and Renee of Ellington, Steven Midford and Emily of Ellington and Troy Russell of Ellington. Carmel's greatest treasures, her Great Grand babies, Amelia Wolferseder, Ryan Midford, Jordyn Midford, Makayla Midford, and Callie Midford. Also living three brothers and one sister and their spouses. Harvey and Pauline Breton of Florida, John and Carol Breton of Enfield, Anne Vasquez and her late husband Rene of CA, and Andrew and Gloria Breton of Windsor; also several nieces and nephews. Carmel is predeceased by her brother Augie and his wife Jenny, her sister Helen Cantone and her husband Joe, Terri Calbi and her husband Frank. The Bolles' family would like to especially thank the angels who helped take care of Carmel over the past several years.
