Betty Waterhouse-DiGennaro , 98 of Suffield died on July 29, 2012 while in the Hebrew Home and Hospital, West Hartford, CT where she was treated with great caring and kindness by all there. Betty was born in the Bronx, NY to the late Anthony and Mary (Minchelli) Ciccone. Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Waterhouse, her son Frank Waterhouse, her brothers Americo and Eugene Ciccone, and her sister Yolanda Caruso. She lived in the Bronx for many years and upon retirement moved to Florida and split her time between there and New Rochelle, NY before moving to Suffield, CT after marrying Frank DiGennaro. Betty loved to read, travel, socialize, and make new acquaintances. She was a member of the Suffield Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cards, especially bingo and poker and being with her many friends. Betty was a kind, caring, loving and devoted mother , wife, grandmother and sister. She leaves to remember her spirit, her sons Thomas Waterhouse and his wife Shirley, Robert Waterhouse and his wife Lynette, and her grandson, James Waterhouse. She was looking forward to James' upcoming wedding to Ashley Wetzel. Also surviving her are her step-son Frank DiGennaro and his wife Linda, grandchildren Lori Francis and Dennis, Robert DiGennaro, Jennifer DiGennaro and great-grandchildren Joseph.and Drew. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral home, 443 East St. (Rt. 159) , Suffield. All are invited to gather at the Funeral Home on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 9 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. Burial will follow in Somers, NY at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Her family wishes to thank the Masonicare Hospice, Katie, Carol and Rose who were a blessing to Betty and her family. They also wish to thank her aid Donna and all of Betty's friends who were such a special part of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty may be made to: Masonic Partners Home Health & Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 202, East Hartford, CT 06108, Hebrew Health Care, 1 Abrahms Blvd, West Hartford, CT 06117-1525, or Suffield Senior Center or Suffield Mini-Bus Reserve Fund.
