Bernice S. McCabe of Suffield, CT and Worcester, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday, (October 21, 2010) surrounded by her loving family. A native of Worcester, New York, she lived for the past seven years in Suffield. She was an avid gardener and genealogist. She was active in various genealogical societies including the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her children Thomas J. McCabe, Jr. and his wife Susan of Suffield, Connecticut and Michael S. McCabe, and his wife Virginia of Longmeadow, Massachusetts; grandchildren Christine Hanna and her husband Sean, Thomas J. McCabe III and his wife Erin and James M. McCabe and Kaitlin McCabe. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. McCabe, Sr. her brothers Arthur, DeForest and Robert Sperry, and her sister Gladys Reid.

Her family will receive friends Monday, October 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Rt. 159), Suffield. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester, NY In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Suffield Visiting Nurses Association, 450 South St., Suffield, CT 06078.
