Beatrice Formaggioni of Avon, Connecticut passed away peacefully on November 3, 2016 with her family by her side. Beatrice was born in Torrington, the beloved daughter of the late Vito and Mary Catherine (Colangelo) Mecca. She served as a teacher for a number of years at A.I. Prince Technical High School in Hartford. She was also a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Peter Church in Torrington. Beatrice had a kind and generous soul and she will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves her brother, William Mecca; brother-in-law, Frank LeJeune; four adored nephews, Michael LeJeune, Robert LeJeune, William Mecca, Jr., and Edward Droney; and many other dear family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was pre-deceased by her brothers, Joseph and Nicholas Mecca, and her sisters, Carmela and Josephine. Funeral services for Beatrice will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that those wishing to offer gifts make a donation in Beatrice's honor to a charity of personal significance.
