Barbara W. Pare, 85, of Hampden, ME, formerly of Granby, CT, beloved wife of the late Raymond Pare Sr., entered into eternal peace, on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Barbara was born in Hartford CT on December 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Arthur and Myrtle (Gray) Thompson, she was a member of Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford and lived in Granby for over 49 years. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Enfield and was active with the Granby Senior Center and Civic Club. She is survived by her sister Reta Doolittle, six children Linda Therrian, Raymond Pare' Jr., Alan Slamons, Diane Tackett, Helen Olsen, and Clinton Pare', fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her daughters Nancy Tebo and Betty Dumas, her brother Arthur R. Thompson Jr. and her sisters Doris Thompson Bouchard and Marie Thompson Selenskas. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday October 3 at the Hayes Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St. Granby followed by burial in Granby Cemetery. Her family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home.
