Autry "Art" Hallett, 70, of Rockville, loving husband of 52 years to Suzan (Wallace) Hallett, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Houlton, Maine, the son of the late Afton and Opal (Hafford) Hallett, he grew up and lived in Houlton and Bangor, Maine before moving to Vernon fifty years ago. Prior to his retirement in 2000, Art was a machinist at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for 34 years. He loved spending time with his family, playing horseshoes, antique cars and he was a member of the Tri Town Cruisers. He was an avid fishermen and he looked forward to his fishing trips to Maine. He was a diehard Red Sox and UCONN women's basketball fan. Art was a member of the Rockville Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children, Andrew Hallett and his wife Beata of South Windsor, Virginia Abel and her husband Chet of Bolton, and Neal Hallett and his wife Cheryl of Ellington; four grandchildren, Kaytlyn Moore and her husband Adam, and Eliza, Ella, and Emmaline Hallett; two brothers, Lloyd Hallett of FL, and Wayne Hallett and his wife Georgette of ME; two aunts, Priscilla Rollins and Phyllis Moody both of ME, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Rockville Church of the Nazarene, 47 East Street, Rockville. His family will receive friends at the church for calling hours on Monday from 10 – 11 a.m. Burial will follow in New West Somers Cemetery. Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home in Vernon is caring for the arrangements.
