Agnes Marie (Keane) Brewer, 76, beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Joseph Brewer, of Ellington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on August 2, 1941, and was daughter to the late Denis F, and Sally (Murphy) Keane. She met the love of her life Bill while working at Jordan Marsh in Boston and they were married for 49 years. Having grown up in Cambridge and Somerville, she moved to Peabody, Massachusetts where she lived and raised her family for more than thirty years. The past sixteen years she has lived in Connecticut with her daughter and her family. She had a love of working with children. She owned a family daycare in Massachusetts before retiring in 2002 to move to Connecticut to help raise her granddaughters Ainsley, Fiona and Maura. While living in Massachusetts she was actively involved with the Liturgy Committee at St. Anthony Shrine in Boston, Massachusetts. In her retirement she spent time travelling and caring for her granddaughters. She loved to travel, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. Agnes is survived by her children, Sean Brewer and his wife Lori of Massachusetts; Michael Brewer and his wife Angela of Minnesota; Maureen Armstrong and her husband John of Ellington; and Kathleen Brewer and her fiancée Maggie of California. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially the time spent with her grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Ainsley, Fiona, Maura, Mettine and Maggie. She leaves behind her siblings Francis and Nancy Keane; Patrick Keane and Paula Lancisi; and James and Elizabeth McDonough as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in Agnes’ name may be made to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, 95 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105.
