She was born in Rockville, CT on November 2, 1937 to the late Stephen and Beatrice (Grumbach) Ciechowski. Besides being devoted to her family and friends, she also spent many hours crocheting booties, blankets and afghans for the Florida Labor of Love organization. During her life she traveled extensively with her family, camping and sightseeing throughout the country. Making crafts, decorating and event planning as president of the ladies club were some of the activities she also enjoyed. As a member of the Red Hat Society, she also enjoyed many hours of fun with the ladies in her Golden Gate Community in Florida. Nancy is survived by her sons, Scott Gerich and his wife Shirley of Tolland CT and their children, Luke and Jake; Lee Heckerd and his wife Joelma of Iowa; her daughters, Dawn Garrison and her husband Craig of Enfield, CT and their children, Amber, Alex and Aaron; Jeanne Heckerd of East Windsor, CT and her daughter, Courtney; her sister, Cheryl Lesoveck and her husband Carl of Tolland, CT, and her great grandchildren, Jaxon, Jaiden and Jazymyn. Condolence & Memory Journal

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family.

My mom, my best friend, my teacher, my confidant. You taught me so much. Your passing was so sudden, not expected at all. Such an unbelievable shock. I know you missed dad so badly, it was only 2 yrs. Of his passing. I know your heart and soul missed him so much. I still can't believe your gone.I wake up sometimes forgetting your not here, thinking I have to call mom today, but the phone remains untouched. I keep thinking every time the phone rings it might be you, but forgot once again. I miss you so much! It's only been 4 days since you passed, it's been so hard. But I do believe dad came to get you. Your love was endless to each other. Rest peacefully beautiful mother of mine. You will be forever in my heart & wonderful memories. We will see each other some day soon. I love you to eternity and back your very grateful daughter, Dawn April
